Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who robbed a car wash attendant at gunpoint on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., the suspect brandished a weapon as he approached the employee at Zap Lube Car Wash in the 400 block of McCarter Highway. He threatened the employee, then took $500 from him that belonged to the car wash business.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
