Robberies
 
There were no robberies during the past week.
 
 
Residential Burglaries
 
There were two residential burglaries during the past week.
 
On Tuesday, 07-15-25, between 2:58 a.m. and 3:06 a.m., on the 800 block of Campus Drive, two male suspects entered two apartment buildings and stole mail from the mailboxes. These are the same suspects who stole mail on Friday, 07-11-25.
 
On Friday, 07-18-25, at approximately 3:13 a.m., on the 800 block of Campus Drive, a male suspect entered an apartment building and stole mail from the mailboxes. The suspect, a 30-year-old East Palo Alto resident, was arrested for this case and the two previous mail theft cases. He was booked into jail for burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, mail theft, identity theft, resisting arrest, probation violation, and outstanding warrants. The suspect arrived in a vehicle with a second female suspect, a 40-year-old East Palo Alto resident. She was also arrested and booked into jail for burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
 
 
Commercial Burglaries
 
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
 
 
Vehicle Burglaries   
 
There was one vehicle burglary during the past week.
 

• 600 block of Clarinada Avenue—two credit cards and a driver’s license were taken from a 2019 Honda Accord. The driver’s door lock was broken. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on 07-19-25 and 2:30 p.m. on 07-20-25.

 
 
Stolen Vehicles 
 
There were two stolen vehicles and one attempted vehicle theft during the past week. One vehicle was recovered.
 

• Belhaven Avenue and Perita Drive—a theft of a 2017 Infiniti Q50. Occurred on 07-19-25 between midnight and 3:30 a.m.

 

• Parking lot of the Cow Palace on Geneva Avenue—a theft of a 2024 Nissan Altima. Occurred on 07-19-25 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Officers located the vehicle in San Francisco on 07-19-25 at approximately 6:09 p.m. The suspect, a 16-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was subsequently released to a parent. This case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office.

 

• Higate Drive and Ridgefield Avenue—an attempted theft of a 2016 Lexus IS 300. Occurred on 07-20-25 at approximately 4:00 a.m.

 
 
Miscellaneous
 

• There were 113 cases taken.

 

• There were 9 domestic disturbance cases reported.

 

• There were 6 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.

 

• There were 3 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.

 

• There was 1 case for public intoxication.

 

• There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.

 

• There were 4 narcotics-related cases taken.

Free Compost Giveaway
 
The City of Daly City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host free compost giveaway events. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Events will take place at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (153 Lake Merced Boulevard) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:
 
            September 24-25, 2025
            November 12-13, 2025
 
To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to five (5) 5-gallon buckets of compost per household. Events are weather permitting and will be canceled due to rain.

Sandbags Available While Supplies Last
 
Sandbags are accessible 24/7 at two locations for residents with proof of residency:
- Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (parking lot) - 153 Lake Merced Blvd.  
- Department of Public Works (Corporation Yard entrance) - 798 Niantic Ave.  
Limit 10. Please take only what is needed as supplies are limited. When filling sandbags, fill them only halfway, so they are not too heavy to lift and will stack properly.
