* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Quay County in east central New Mexico... Southeastern Harding County in northeastern New Mexico... East Central San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...
* Until 1015 PM MDT.
* At 712 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tucumcari, Logan and Ute Lake State Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 331 and 352. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 103 and 105.

Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
