Byram Township’s Transparent Budget Process
Byram Township is committed to transparency and community involvement in the development of its annual municipal budget. The process begins each July, when all departments are asked to submit their operating and capital budget requests for the upcoming calendar year.
Throughout the fall and winter, the Township Council and administration engage in public discussions focused on departmental goals, objectives, and funding needs. These discussions are held during open public meetings, allowing residents to stay informed and provide input.
The process culminates in March, when the municipal budget is formally introduced for the calendar year. This timeline ensures that the budget reflects both the Township’s strategic priorities and the community’s expectations.

The Byram Township Tax Collector’s Office would like to inform residents that the final 2025 property tax bills are being mailed today.
These bills include the total tax levies for the following entities:
- Byram Township Municipality
- School Districts: Byram Schools and Lenape Valley Regional H.S.
- Sussex County Government
- Tax Levy Breakdown (by Percentage)
