Wilmington Police arrest wanted man in connection with shots fired incident: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man in connection with a shots fired incident.
On July 23 at approximately 2:57 a.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of North Pine Street in reference to a shots fired incident, without injuries, that had occurred.
Members of the Crime Gun Intelligence Center began an investigation into the incident, and identified 19-year-old Cornell Clifton as a suspect. On July 24 at approximately 1:28 p.m., investigators located Clifton in the 4000 block of DuPont Highway, and took him into custody without incident.
Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, .40-caliber ammunition and 220 grams of marijuana.
Clifton, who was found to be wanted on an unrelated matter, has been charged with the following offenses:
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
