HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT MONDAY...
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.
* WHERE...Eastern McDowell, Greater Burke, and Greater Caldwell
Counties. Including Glenwood, Dysartsville, Lake James, Nebo, Hankins, Marion, Valdese, Sawmills, Morganton, and Kings Creek.
* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Call 911 immediately if you observe an unattended child or a pet in a vehicle.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
