3 Arrested and 46 Cited at Palmdale DUI Checkpoint
Palmdale, Calif. – On July 25, 2024, 3 people were arrested for DUI at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Palmdale Boulevard / 3rd Street East from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
37 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1083 vehicles were contacted, and 10 vehicles were towed. 1 person was cited for an active warrant and 4 people were cited for traffic violations.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
