The male victim, 58, was inside his residence when the known suspect intentionally set fire to his backyard. When officers contacted the suspect in a nearby residence, he barricaded himself inside. After several hours of negotiation, the suspect came outside but refused to obey commands. Force was used to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. ARRESTED: Rodrigo Nayotl-Acuahuitl, 42, for arson, attempted homicide, and resisting arrest charges.
2. Person Shot (0134) 100 Block of North Hunter Street, Civic District
The male victim, 33, was in the area when an altercation occurred and unknown suspects began shooting. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at an area hospital. There is no suspect information.
3. Persons Shot / Robbery Arrest (0205) 500 Block of North Stanislaus Street, Civic District
The female victim, 44, was seated in her vehicle when the suspect forced his way into the vehicle. The suspect shot the victim during a struggle and stole her purse. The victim was treated at an area hospital for a non-life-threatening injury. The suspect arrived at an area hospital seeking treatment for a life-threatening gunshot wound, where he was arrested. ARRESTED: Antonio Eppinger, 27, for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery charges.
