Special Weather Statement until 06:30PM

At 539 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Montoya, or 19 miles southwest of Tucumcari, moving northeast at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Montoya. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 309 and 324.

* AFFECTED AREAS: QUAY COUNTY

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
