Caltrans completed work ahead of schedule: SB I-680 at Mission San Jose (SR-238) now open.
Southbound I-680 in Fremont NOW OPEN (Highway re-opens 13 hours ahead of schedule) ALAMEDA COUNTY – Southbound Interstate 680 has re-opened at 4:00 PM, Sunday July 27, more than 13 hours ahead of schedule, after Caltrans successfully completed operations at the Southbound I-680/Mission San Jose Separation Overpass in the City of Fremont.
The next scheduled 55-hour full highway closure will be on Northbound I-680/Mission San Jose Separation Overpass starting Friday August 8th at 10:00 PM to Monday morning, August 11. 2025.

During these hours, the connector, ramps, and lanes may be closed to traffic. Motorists should follow posted detour signs and plan for extra travel time.
