Each evening/night beginning Monday July 28th 7:00 PM-6:00 AM (through Friday morning) the City’s contractor will be milling and paving South Pearl Street from First Avenue south to the south City line by the Port of Albany. There will be lane shifts and alternating one way traffic during these work nights. Parking will be restricted on both sides of South Pearl Street and at intersections along South Pearl Street during the construction.
Friday August 1st at 6:00 PM through Saturday August 2nd the City’s contractor will be paving the top course of asphalt on Broadway from Genessee Street north to the Menands line. There will be lane shifts and alternating one way traffic during the paving. Access to side roads will be restricted or detoured until the pavement is cured for traffic to travel on it. Parking will be restricted on both sides of Broadway during the paving.
Monday July 28, 2025 at 8:00 AM through Monday August 4, 2025 South Pearl Street between Beaver Street and Hudson Avenue will be closed to all traffic for an event at the MVP Arena. Parking will also be restricted in this area. Motorists are asked to use an alternate route around this area with the road closed.
Look out for additional pedestrian traffic on downtown sidewalks and intersections beginning Friday August 1st through Sunday evening August 3rd due to the CrossFit games at the MVP arena. Pedestrians will be walking between the MVP Arena and the Corning Riverfront Park/Jennings Landing for various events and spectator workouts.
