Notice from the Mt. Pleasant Highway Department: Temporary Road Closure Alert, Nanny Hagen Road

Please be advised that starting on or about Monday July 28, 2025 Nanny Hagen Road will be closed from Richard Lane to Swanson Drive, and only accessible to local residents.  The Mount Pleasant Highway Department crews will be replacing drainage within this portion of Nanny Hagen Road. 

This road closure will be in effect each day (Monday through Friday) between the hours of approximately 7:30am to 3:30pm.  This project is estimated to be completed within approximately three weeks but this work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Detours will be set in place.  Furthermore, mobile variable messaging signs, detour signage and flaggers will be on scene throughout the duration of this project.

In order to avoid the work area, all passenger vehicles traveling on Nanny Hagen Road will be re-routed from Swanson Drive to Old Kensico Road to Richard Lane.  It is important to note that through truck traffic will not be permitted and will be diverted to reduce the impact of this detour.

However, local residents’ traffic will be permitted but please anticipate lengthy delays, allow for extra travel time and plan to use alternate routes when possible.   We kindly urge local residents to plan ahead and limit your daily ingress/egress as much as possible to aid in reducing delays and traffic backups.
