Heat Advisory until 08:00PM Tuesday

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 110 expected.

* WHERE...In Arkansas, Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian Counties. In Oklahoma, Muskogee, Sequoyah, Craig, Mayes, Nowata, Ottawa, Rogers, and Wagoner Counties.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from noon to 8 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity could create a dangerous situation in which heat related illnesses are more likely. Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing strenuous activities.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CRAWFORD ... FRANKLIN ... SEBASTIAN ... NOWATA ... CRAIG ... OTTAWA ... ROGERS ... MAYES ... WAGONER ... MUSKOGEE ... SEQUOYAH

Instructions:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
