INCIDENT: In-Custody Death Investigation
LOCATION: West Valley Detention Center, 9500 Etiwanda Ave., Rancho Cucamonga
DECEDENT(S): 57-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Saturday, July 26, 2025, deputies at the West Valley Detention Center found a 57-year-old male unresponsive in his cell. Deputies and jail medical staff provided medical aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division are conducting the investigation. The cause and manner of death are pending autopsy. Release of the decedent’s identity is pending notification of next of kin.
