INCIDENT: PC 422(a): Criminal Threats, PC 18720: Possess Materials with the Intent to Make an Explosive
LOCATION: 25300 block of Cole Street, Loma Linda
SUSPECT(S): Shane Shaffi, age 35, resident of Loma Linda
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 10:35 a.m., deputies from Central Station were dispatched to the 25000 block of Cole Street in Loma Linda, regarding a report of criminal threats involving a firearm. During the investigation, deputies determined the suspect, Shane Shaffi, threatened to shoot the victim during a verbal altercation. Shaffi was detained at the scene, and a records check revealed he had multiple firearms registered in his name.
A search warrant was obtained for Shaffi’s residence which led to the seizure of several firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, and one and a half pounds of Tannerite, a brand of binary explosive targets. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department's Arson and Bomb Division responded to the location and took possession of the Tannerite. Shaffi was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center for violation of PC 422(a): Criminal Threats and PC 18720: Possess Materials with the Intent to Make an Explosive.
