Borough Council Meeting, Tuesday, 8/12
The Mayor and Council hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
Outdoor Movie Theater, Saturday, 8/2, 8/16 & 8/30
Join Main Street Highland Park on Saturday nights at 9:00 pm at the Municipal Lot on Raritan Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Avenues for the outdoor movie series. Up next: “Defcon: The Documentary” (8/2), “Mulholland Drive” (8/16) and “Lost in America” (8/30)
National Night Out, Tuesday, 8/5
Join the Highland Park Police Department for a night of family fun at the Bartle School Elementary School in the parking lot from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Dance to beats from DJ Maxx Saint, jump in the bounce house, get your face painted, tour emergency vehicles, and more!
Sustaining a Healthy Lifestyle, Tuesday, 8/5
First Light Home Care will be at the Highland Park Community Center at 10:00 am offering tips to keep you and your family healthy, manage stress, and improve sleep.
Blood Drive, Tuesday 8/12

Learn and Create Series, Tuesday 8/12
The Highland Park Arts Commission invites young people ages 8 to 12 to participate in: A Free Steam Program, where kids can explore the art of Paper Marbling! This course is free and will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. All materials will be provided.
Parkstock Music Festival
Highland Park’s popular outdoor concert series is back on Thursday nights at Donaldson Park, Grove 1 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Select food vendors will be on site.

AARP is offering a safe driver course at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South Sixth Ave from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. Learn techniques for handling turns, discover proven driving methods to help keep you safe on the road, and you could save some money on your car insurance. Gas Leaf Blower Survey
The Borough has a Gas Leaf Blower (GLB) Task Force composed of members from the Borough Council, the Board of Health, Sustainable Highland Park and the Environmental Commission. The GLB Task Force is exploring community concerns or issues related to gas powered leaf blowers, as are the State Legislature and other communities throughout New Jersey. They are all interested in healthier, cleaner and quieter landscaping options. The GLB Task Force held one public information session at the Library and is planning additional public meetings. Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays 8/5, 8/12, 8/19 & 8/26 and Wednesdays 8/6, 8/13, 8/20 and 8/27
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday & Wednesday (except holidays) from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 8/14 & 8/28 & Saturdays 8/16 & 8/30
The Highland Park Food Pantry distribution takes place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays from 9:00 – 10:45 am and 6:00 – 7:00 pm and on the second and fourth Saturdays Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and summer programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
Farmers Market
The Highland Park Farmers Market is, bringing fresh, local, homemade products from farmers and vendors across New Jersey. The market is open every Friday through December 12; from 11:00 am to 4 :00 pm in February, March, November, and December; and until 5:00 pm from April through October. Shop for farm-fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal products, and more while supporting local businesses and enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.
