Flood Advisory until 05:45PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 545 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 247 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated numerous showers and thunderstorms with torrential rainfall developing over much of southern South Carolina. This activity will concentrate in the area between Givhans and Ravenel west to Varnville and Tillman. A quick 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall through 545 PM, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Beaufort, Walterboro, Ridgeland, Hampton, Yemassee, Clarendon, Hollywood, Ravenel, Varnville and Meggett.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
