Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on July 29th, 2025 at approximately 1055 hours, Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on M-62 near Sink Rd., Silver Creek Township, Cass County, Michigan. 

The investigation showed that a vehicle driven by Reginald Tyler, (38-years-old of Benton Harbor, MI) was eastbound on M-62. A vehicle driven by Zachary Short (34-years-old of Battle Creek, MI) was part of a road construction on M-62, when the vehicle he was driving entered the same lane of travel and collided with Reginald's vehicle. Tyler was transported by SMCAS ambulance to St. Joseph Corwell Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Assisting agencies were SMCAS Ambulance, Indian Lake Fire Department, Dowagiac Police Department and Pokagon Tribal Police Department.  

The incident remains under investigation.
