Rancho Cucamonga Deputies Find Loaded Firearm Inside Vehicle During Traffic Stop

PC25850(A)- Carry a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place
LOCATION: Church Street / Elm Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Tyrone Alexander Kennings, Age 40, Resident of Compton
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 8:53 P.M., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet SUV for California vehicle code violations.
Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Tyrone Alexander Kennings. During the contact, deputies learned the vehicle’s registration had been expired for more than six months. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded Glock 19 handgun concealed in a pocket on the rear of the driver’s seat.
Kennings was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC25400(A)(1)- Carry a Concealed Weapon in a Vehicle and PC25850(A)- Carry a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place.
