Flood Watch in effect 1pm Wednesday through Thursday Afternoon - be prepared to take action should flooding develop in your area.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT /2 PM EDT/ THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Boone, Central Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Eastern Will, Ford, Grundy,
Iroquois, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, La Salle, Lake IL, Lee,
Livingston, McHenry, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Ogle, Southern
Cook, Southern Will and Winnebago and northwest Indiana, including
the following areas, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /2 PM EDT/ this afternoon through Thursday
afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Rises on area creeks and rivers are likely.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of locally heavy rainfall from thunderstorms
are expected today through Thursday morning. Each round may
produce 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, though locally higher
amounts are possible.

A Flood Watch means flooding is possible, but not yet certain, based
upon the latest forecasts. Persons with interests along area rivers,
creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and
