Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with February shooting incident: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident that took place in February.
On February 24 at approximately 7:20 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Vandever Avenue and Locust Street in reference to a shooting incident that had occurred. Police located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Murphy of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Murphy identified 32-year-old Tourae Mills as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On July 29 at approximately 7:14 p.m., police officers on patrol observed Mills operating a vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, at which time Mills fled. He was ultimately taken into custody without further incident in the unit block of Vandever Avenue, and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Mills has been charged with the following offenses in addition to multiple traffic violations:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Numbers
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Five Counts
- Criminal Mischief Over $5,000
- Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal
