• Hazard: The compression strap on the pools can be used as a foothold, allowing children to climb into the pool and potentially drown. 
• Affected Brands: Bestway, Intex, and Polygroup. 
• Affected Pools: Above-ground pools 48 inches and taller. 
• Time Period: Pools sold since 2002. 
• Number of Units: Approximately 5 million in the US and 266,000 in Canada. 
• Drowning Deaths: Nine drowning deaths have been reported, involving children between 22 months and 3 years old. 
• Repair: A free repair kit, which includes a rope to secure the pool's vertical support poles, is available to pool owners.

• The recall was issued after reports of children drowning after gaining access to the pools via the compression straps.
