Sheriff Whiting Holds a New Employee and Promotional Swearing in Ceremony

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of Sheriff Rachelle Whiting, is pleased to announce the swearing-in of our newest team members and the promotional advancements of several current employees. This special ceremony, held on Wednesday, July 28, 2025, was attended by family, friends, Calaveras County Sheriff's Office personnel, and a distinguished guest, Senator Marie Alvarado-Gill. The Senator was at the government center working as part of her open office hours and was proud to celebrate this milestone with the community and honor the dedication and professionalism of our team.

The ceremony signified a meaningful milestone, marking both the beginning and ongoing commitment of these individuals to serve our community with integrity and dedication. In a symbolic and traditional act, the newly hired and promoted personnel took a step forward under the guidance of Sheriff Whiting, exemplifying their dedication to public service. The following are the promotions: Corporal Jesse Silva, Corporal William Cordova, Correctional Sergeant Amber Rojo, and Correctional Corporal Christine Wilson.

The following new employees were sworn in: Deputy Devin Nisbet, Correctional Officer Tiffany Kittrell, Correctional Officer Dylan Doporto, Correctional Officer Timothy Satkamp, Records Manager Nicole Greene, Dispatcher Mackenzie Pekarek, Dispatcher Karina Records, and Dispatcher Hailee Bohren. (You read that right, Calaveras, that’s three new dispatchers.)

Following the ceremony, Senator Alvarado-Gill remarked, “It was an honor to recognize these remarkable men and women who have answered the call to serve. Public safety is the foundation of a safe and stable community, and it takes courage and deep commitment to wear that responsibility every day. These promotions and new appointments are a powerful reminder that public service is both a duty and a calling. I’m proud to celebrate their achievements, and I am grateful for their dedication to the people of Calaveras County.”  In addition to the traditional accoutrements associated with this ceremony, the employees taking the oath received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate, presented by Senator Alvarado-Gill.

We invite the community to join us in welcoming these dedicated individuals to their new roles with the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
