7/31/2025: Weather forecasts are calling for heavy, torrential repeated downpours this afternoon into this evening.  A flood watch is in effect from 2pm this afternoon to 6am tomorrow morning.  The National Weather Service is predicting widespread showers and thunderstorms this afternoon/evening, with some storms capable of producing rainfall rates in excess of 2" per hours.  Rainfall amounts of 1-3" are generally expected, with localized amounts around 5-7" or more possible. This could lead to numerous instances of flash flooding, with significant flash flooding possible.   Road closures are possible, especially in poor drainage/low lying areas.  Residents who live in the flood prone areas should pay close attention to the forecast and conditions. 
Tewksbury Township OEM, DPW and emergency services will be monitoring the weather this evening.
DO NOT drive through flooded roads or around barricades.   Stay away from downed trees and downed wires.  Downed wires may be hidden in standing water and downed trees and should always be considered live.  Residents who live in flood prone areas should pay close attention to the forecast and conditions.
