INCIDENT: PC 245 (d) (1) – Assault against Peace Officer with Firearm
LOCATION: 8700 Block of Syracuse Road, Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT(S): Sydney Zimmer, 21-years-old, Resident of Lucerne Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at about 12:30 a.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a domestic disturbance at a home in Lucerne Valley. When deputies arrived, they observed several people in the street, arguing. As deputies detained the subjects to begin an investigation, Sydney Zimmer appeared out of the darkness with a shotgun. Zimmer ignored multiple commands by deputies to put the weapon down and a lethal force encounter occurred. Zimmer was struck multiple times and deputies provided medical aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Zimmer was transported to a hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation.
