Special Weather Statement until 03:00PM

At 216 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles southeast of Arnoldsburg, or 14 miles south of Grantsville, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Sutton, Gassaway, Exchange, Shock, Frametown, Orma, Wilsie, Rosedale, Nicut, and Chloe. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 48 and 63. Route 19 near mile marker 68.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
