State of Emergency Declared: Flash Flooding & Severe Thunderstorms Expected 
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch from 2PM today until 2 PM Friday.
COUNTYWIDE:
Bergen County OEM is continuing to monitor a rain event that is expected to affect our area with heavy thunderstorms, beginning this afternoon through Friday afternoon. Current forecasts estimate 1 -2 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible. The heaviest rain will be late this afternoon through midnight.
Runoff may result in minor to moderate flash flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
We will continue to monitor this situation and issue updates as necessary.
Instructions:
Please check your property and secure any loose items such as patio umbrellas, trash cans, outdoor furniture, etc., as damaging winds are expected. Stay off the roads leaving them clear for emergency personnel.
