| On July 31, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m. deputies from the Camarillo Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Central Avenue reference a call of a man who stated he had killed someone and was still in possession of a firearm. When the deputies arrived on scene, Sheriff’s Dispatch requested the suspect to step outside of the residence. The suspect stepped outside holding a firearm in a threatening manner and a deputy involved shooting occurred. Deputies provided life saving measures and the suspect was transported to a local hospital for further medical care. The deputies conducted a search of both the subject’s residence and surrounding residences and no victims were located. There were no injuries to the deputies involved. The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit responded and took control of the investigation, which is active and on-going. This has been deemed to be an isolated incident, with no further threat to the public. |
