On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Union City's neighborhoods are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the "42nd Annual NATIONAL NIGHT OUT" (NNO 2025) to promote police-community partnerships; crime, drug, and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity.
 
National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), and co-sponsored locally by UCPD, will involve over 16,500 communities from all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. From 4 PM to 8 PM on August 5th, the Union City Police Department encourages residents in neighborhoods throughout Union City to lock their doors and show their support for this event by spending the evening outside with their neighbors, community groups, and public safety officers.

The Union City Police Department is excited to announce its 2025 National Night Out celebration, set to take place at a vibrant new location designed to bring the community together for an unforgettable evening of connection, celebration, and family-friendly fun.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of engaging activities and delicious offerings, including the official “Block Party BBQ” provided by Texas Roadhouse and the refreshing “Block Party Refresher” iced beverage courtesy of Starbucks. In addition to these featured items, guests will enjoy a wide range of food and product samples from a diverse group of local vendors throughout the event.

In preparation for the new school year, the event will also feature special back-to-school giveaways. The first 300 school-aged children in attendance will receive a free backpack donated by Walmart filled with essential school supplies and a few fun surprises.

To add to the excitement, both adults and children will have a chance to win a grand prize raffle basket, generously donated by community partners.

This event is free of charge to all attendees, thanks to the generous support and contributions from local sponsors and community partners who make this annual celebration possible.
