Wilmington Police arrest man and woman following drug investigation:

Wilmington Police have arrested a man and woman following a drug investigation.
 
During the month of July, members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division conducted an investigation into drug activity in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street. As the investigation continued, on July 31 at approximately 8:48 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division and the Safe Streets Task Force made contact with 29-year-old Donnell Gill and 29-year-old Jalone Nichols in the 800 block of West 6th Street. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, and police recovered a loaded .38-caliber revolver, 100.94 grams of crack cocaine, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and $3,435 in currency.
 
Gill has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $304,400 cash-only bail.
 
Nichols has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $5,350 cash-only bail.
