The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 2 PM MDT /1 PM PDT/ this afternoon to 8 PM MDT /7 PM PDT/ this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zone 423 Owyhee Mountains. In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 672 Southern Grasslands, 673 Central Canyonlands and 674 Northwestern Vale BLM.
* TIMING...From 2 PM MDT /1 PM PDT/ this afternoon to 8 PM MDT /7 PM PDT/ this evening.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 45 mph.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: OWYHEE MOUNTAINS ... SOUTHERN GRASSLANDS ... CENTRAL CANYONLANDS ... NORTHWESTERN VALE BLM
