The Simi Valley Police Department is sending this Nixle out as an update to the assault investigation that occurred at Regal Plaza, 2751 Tapo Canyon Rd, on August 1, 2025.
 
Based on the investigation to this point it has been determined that two groups of teenagers were at the Regal Plaza.  The two groups have had prior altercations and one of the groups approached the other.  At some point the groups engaged in a physical altercation involving multiple subjects, for which the police department was called.
 
When officers arrived on scene of the initial call, they encountered multiple teenagers.  One of the teenagers, an 18-year-old white male, was identified as a possible victim due to a minor injury to his mouth.  The male was not desirous of being a victim of a crime and no other potential victims were located.  As previously released; another victim, an 18-year-old black male, who was associated with the first victim’s group, contacted the police department later and was desirous of being a victim. 
 
The first victim recontacted police the next day and advised he was desirous of being a victim.  The injuries to the two victims consisted of a possible concussion, chipped tooth, minor cuts, and abrasions.
 
Based on statements from involved parties and videos, four suspects have been identified to this point.  The identified suspects are all juveniles.  The four juveniles have been contacted and were arrested for battery.
 
This investigation is continuing and will be presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.  Additional charges may be added, as well as additional suspects identified, as more information is obtained.
