On March 16th, at approximately 7:43 p.m., Millstadt Police were alerted to a reckless driver coming into town on State Route 158. The Millstadt Officer located the vehicle in the 100 block of West Elm Street and made contact with the driver. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of controlled substance. After lab results from the Illinois State Police were received, the report was forwarded to the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office. On July 18th the police department received warrants on Dawn M. Simmons, age 48 formerly of Millstadt, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Alprazolam); a Class 4 Criminal Felony, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; a Class A Criminal Misdemeanor. The defendant was booked on the charges on July 24th.
