Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.
 
On August 1 at approximately 9:55 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division and the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 800 block of North Pine Street when they observed a subject engaged in drug activity. When investigators attempted to make contact with the subject – 27-year-old Isaiah Smiley – he fled from officers. Smiley was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit, and police recover 4.89 grams of heroin, 2.85 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
 
Smiley has been charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
• Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
• Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
• Resisting Arrest
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
