Wilmington Police arrest Newark man on gun charges, recover handgun with drum magazine: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark man on gun charges, and recovered a handgun with a drum magazine.
On August 3 at approximately 12:11 a.m., a police officer on patrol in the 900 block of North Church Street observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign. Police conducted a vehicle stop and made contact with the driver, 33-year-old Lamonte Butler of Newark, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with a drum-style magazine with 51 rounds of ammunition. Butler was also found to be in possession of 31 grams of marijuana and additional narcotic pills.
Butler has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of Marijuana Other Than Personal Use Quantity
