* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Gaston.

* WHEN...Until 930 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 729 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain has occurred in this area. Minor flooding is possible at Catawba Creek at East Hudson Blvd. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gastonia, Mt Holly, Belmont, South Gastonia, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, Mcadenville, Crowders Mountain State Park, Lake Wylie and Crowders. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
