The contractor has completed the first layer of limestone interlayer, and the road is now open in that area. Work will continue on Thursday near the high school but will not begin until 9:00 AM, with completion expected by 2:00 PM. Crews will also be working near DEMCO and are aiming to get past "Old Wax" to fully reopen the road between Old Wax and Sullivan. This will allow school traffic to flow from both directions, and travelers coming from the Greenwell Springs side can use Old Wax as an alternate route. The first asphalt binder course will be laid over the weekend to avoid impacting school traffic.
