* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Most of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne and Wilson.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rain will become increasingly-widespread and moderate to heavy at times today. Embedded showers and thunderstorms will further increase rainfall rates, to one to two inches per hour in the heaviest cells. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
