UPDATE: SCE is reporting that power has been restored in South Palm Desert, but outages remain in the eastern part of the City. The current estimated time for restoration of power in those areas is 3 p.m.

Palm Desert's three Cooling Centers are currently open for visitors:

- Joslyn Center: 73750 Catalina Way
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (for those 55 and older)
- Palm Desert Library: 73300 Fred Waring
Monday - Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Palm Desert Community Center (Lobby area): 43900 San Pablo Ave
Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Palm Desert is currently experiencing unscheduled power outages, primarily in the southern areas of the city, affecting the operation of several traffic signals.

Southern California Edison (SCE) is currently working to resolve the issue, with an estimated time to restore regular power service between 10 - 10:45 a.m.

⚠️Any traffic signals that are non-operational or flashing red, should be treated as a four-way stop sign.⚠️

Please take note of other motorists at these intersections and proceed with caution, while yielding the proper right of way to your neighbors travelling in this area.

Crews are actively assessing the situation and working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
