An adult female was arrested for vehicular assault with a deadly weapon and evading a peace officer.
San Mateo, CA – On August 6, 2025, at 3:36 a.m., the San Mateo Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle and driver who was refusing to leave the private parking lot on the unit block of Bovet Road. The driver, identified as Liliana Tafollaromero, attempted to pepper spray a security guard but was unsuccessful. Tafollaromero then began to drive away but returned to the parking lot, attempting to strike a security guard with her vehicle.
Officers arrived and contacted Tafollaromero but she refused to exit her vehicle. Tafollaromero then reversed her vehicle and rammed a San Mateo Police patrol vehicle. No officers were injured during the collision, and the patrol vehicle sustained only minor damage. Tafollaromero then attempted to strike a security guard with her vehicle again, and for approximately 10 minutes, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of Tafollaromero’s vehicle as she circled the parking lot. A vehicle disabling device was utilized to slow Tafollaromero’s vehicle, and after additional containment measures were utilized, Tafollaromero exited her vehicle and was detained without further incident.
