Friendly Reminder to our residents, as numerous reports have come in regarding the crows of roosters being heard.  Indeed, it is confirmed that there hare homes in the city that are not regarding the City Ordinance that stipulates only a maximum of six-(6) female chickens are allowed per household/lot, and there is to be ABSOLUTELY NO ROOSTERS, regardless of the breed permitted inside the city limits of Merriam Woods.

The city is working hard to enforce ALL its' ordinances-which in the past has been overlooked to varying degrees. Fixing past oversight deficiencies takes time to resolve. The situation of chickens in the city has been an old topic that has yet again arisen -  and the city's expectations need to be made clear. Please consider this email a gentle inteded reminder with respect to our ordinance on chickens; and please note that any violators of the city ordinance on the number of chickens in possession or violations involving possessing a rooster inside city will be met with code enforecement involvement, and the possiblity of citation.
