UPDATE TO ORIGINAL RELEASE:

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Santa Maria Police Department (SMPD) Detectives, in collaboration with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested two individuals in connection with a recent homicide.

Victoriano Lopez Feliciano, 27, and his brother Gabriel Lopez Feliciano, 32, both residents of Santa Maria were located in Taft, California at approximately 6:00 p.m. and taken into custody without incident.

Through diligent investigative work following the homicide, detectives identified both men as being involved. Victoriano Lopez Feliciano was arrested for murder (California Penal Code 187), while Gabriel Lopez Feliciano was arrested as an accessory after the fact (California Penal Code 32).

Case Number: SMPD25-0010332

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Santa Maria Police Department (SMPD) officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of West Main Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The SMPD Detective Bureau has assumed responsibility for this active investigation. The suspect remains outstanding. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and after notification of next of kin.
