Wilmington Police arrest man in connection with multiple burglaries: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple burglary incidents.
On August 7 at approximately 11:06 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of West 26th Street in reference to a possible burglary that was taking place. As officers arrived, the suspect – 44-year-old Alexis Martinez – fled on foot, and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Through further investigation, police identified Martinez as a suspect in connection with multiple burglary incidents that have taken place over the past several weeks, including in the 2900 block of North Van Buren Street, the 1000 block of West 25th Street and the 1000 block of West 24th Street.
Martinez has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (Third Degree) – Five Counts
- Theft Over $1,500 – Four Counts
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – Four Counts
- Resisting Arrest
