Wilmington Police arrest 17-year-old from Claymont on gun and drug charges, recover stolen firearm: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a 17-year-old from Claymont on gun and drug charges.
On August 9 at approximately 5:51 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop for a moving violation in the 3900 block of Shipley Street. Police made contact with the driver – a 17-year-old male juvenile from Claymont – and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, 9mm ammunition, 282 grams of marijuana and drug packaging material. The gun was found to have been reported stolen out of Butler, Pennsylvania.
The 17-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses, in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Firearm While in Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
