One man dies in single vehicle crash on Amarillo Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

DETAILS: On August 11, 2025, Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of West Amarillo Blvd on a Major crash involving a single vehicle. Officers discovered a Tan 2003 GMC Yukon that had overturned in the center median. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had been ejected and was laying on the grass just east of the van. The Driver, Allen Alexander Armstrong, Male, age 43, died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The GMC had been traveling westbound on Amarillo Blvd when it suddenly left the roadway to the south. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to lose control and go into the center median, where it rolled, causing Mr. Armstrong to be ejected. Mr. Armstrong was not wearing a seatbelt. Potter County Justice of the Peace, Debbie Horn, was contacted and ordered an autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
