Man and Woman Arrested after Hitting Victim with Their Vehicle and Pepper Spraying Him Near Their Home

LOCATION: 20000 block of Tussing Ranch Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): David Schaar, age of 36, resident of Apple Valley
Jacquline Chapman, age 38, resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:23 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 20000 block of Tussing Ranch Road in Apple Valley.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who had sustained serious injuries. During investigation, deputies revealed the victim was walking near the residence of the suspects, David Schaar and Jacquline Chapman, when the suspects chased the victim in a pickup truck. The victim was struck and run over several times by the vehicle and became pinned beneath a tire. Following the assault, the suspects exited the pickup truck and proceeded to pepper spray the victim in the face.
The victim was transported by emergency personnel to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center.
