The Hawthorne  Water Utility is asking its residents/customers for VOLUNTARY curtailment of outdoor water use including watering of lawns.

This will enable Hawthorne to provide as much water as possible to the Passaic Valley Water Commission for its customers in Prospect Park and to the Manchester Utilities Authority for its customers in North Haledon. This request will remain in effect for the duration of the emergency caused by a PVWC water main break in Paterson.

Ridgewood Water, our regular wholesale water customer, is assisting in this effort by foregoing water that they're contractually-entitled to receive from Hawthorne, asking their customers for futher reductions in outdoor water consumption beyond their mandatory restrictions already in place.

We can't solve this problem, but if we all join together we can improve the situation for neighbors impacted by this water main break. Please assist in this effort in the way Hawthorne always responds for people in need.
