Flood Advisory until 09:45PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Real and Uvalde.

* WHEN...Until 945 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 641 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Little Dry Frio Creek, Honey Creek, Pailing Creek, West Prong Flush Creek, East Frio River, Cedar Creek, Little Buffalo Creek, Ranch Creek, South Camp Wood Creek, Bear Creek, New Creek, Sycamore Creek, Mare Creek, Nueces River, Lake Creek, Dry Creek, Bullhead Creek, East Prong Nueces River, Spring Creek, West Sabinal River, Short Kent Creek, Patterson Creek, Flat Creek, Brushy Creek, Bluff Creek, Camp Wood Creek, Cherry Creek, Long Kent Creek, South Cedar Creek, Frio River, Blanco Creek, Elm Creek, Indian Creek, Dry Frio River, Fush Creek and Ash Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
