Water Main Break Update - Borough of Haledon Portable Shower Drive, Drinking Water Drive, and Non-Drinking Water Drive

A Message from the Haledon Office of Emergency Management (OEM)

Wednesday, August 13, 2025

As of this writing, fortunately, more residents are gradually reporting that they have begun receiving water pressure again, at least enough to shower and flush toilets. However, many of us still do not have water pressure in our homes as utility workers continue to work at the water main break site near Hinchcliffe Stadium in the City of Paterson. For those with water, a Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further notice. Those with water are urged to conserve their supplies. The Manchester Utilities Authority (MUA) is asking residents to keep all irrigation systems OFF and limit water usage until further notice.

Residents are urged not to open fire hydrants and to refrain from drinking water from fire hydrants that may be legitimately open by utility workers as they continue to address the water system.

As we continue to receive additional resources for affected residents and families at our Haledon Recreation Center Water Distribution Site, until further notice, there will be no parking permitted on the following streets. Please adhere to the no parking signs posted by the Haledon Police Department:

- Roe Street between East Barbour Street and North 13th Street
- North 15th Street between Roe Street and Bernard Avenue
- Bernard Avenue between North 15th Street and North 13th Street
- North 13th Street between Bernard Avenue and Roe Street

The Haledon Municipal Complex Senior Center remains open as a temporary shelter, where water is available for any resident utilizing the service. Residents seeking temporary shelter can check in at the Main Desk at the Haledon Police Department.
