Police Seek Help Identifying Persons of Interest in Aggravated Assault Investigation

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the individuals pictured below, who are persons of interest in an aggravated assault on August 11, 2025.

Police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. in front of an apartment building in the 200 block of Mt. Vernon Place. The victim, a resident of the building, had just left Ivy Hill Park across the street and was headed home when six young males taunted him, questioning whether he lived in the neighborhood.

The victim ran, but the young males caught up to him near the building’s entrance and attacked him. After the assault, one of the individuals pulled out a weapon and pointed it at the victim, who suffered injuries to his hands and face.

Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the identity of the persons of interest to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
